I don’t think banishing expectations is productive.

Because they exist, and they exist for a reason. Unreasonable expectations are one thing. To have a goal to work toward, one needs some kind of expectation of some sort, as low as that expectation might be. And why not aim high while you’re at it? I’ve been way too complacent lately.

… Talking to myself again. I think I’ll just leave it at that. Today’s the first day of class.

    Oh dear. I think a lot of people talk to themselves–who else do you have more in common with? I agree that expectations usually lead to productivity, and it’s a good thing to have if you want to achieve a goal.

    Anyway, I hope you had a good first day!
